Afghanistan, March 8 -- The Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan reported that, since the beginning of the current solar year, 1,100 tons of pine nuts worth over 14 million dollars have been exported from Afghanistan to foreign countries.
Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, the spokesperson for the ministry, stated Saturday, March 8 that these exports have gone to countries including Austria, Jordan, the UAE, the UK, the US, Italy, Australia, Germany, Pakistan, Turkey, China, and several other nations.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce had previously announced plans to form a union to support pine nut traders and eliminate unhealthy competition in the industry.
