Afghanistan, Feb. 13 -- German police say Afghan restaurant owner Morteza Sadeqi was fatally stabbed in Hamburg, prompting investigation and community shock across city late Thursday.

Police said the 43-year-old victim died from multiple stab wounds after a dispute with another man that began inside his restaurant and later moved outside.

Sadeqi, originally from Afghanistan, had lived in Germany for more than three decades and was a well-known figure within the local Afghan community.

He owned Restaurant Sepida, considered one of the city's long-standing Afghan and Iranian dining venues, popular among both locals and migrants.
