Afghanistan, Nov. 16 -- The UN refugee agency says Pakistan has detained more than 100,000 Afghans this year, marking the highest arrest surge as authorities intensify nationwide crackdowns.
The United Nations refugee agency says Pakistan has detained a record number of Afghan migrants this year, with the highest concentration of arrests reported in the provinces of Balochistan and Punjab. A new UNHCR report released on Friday, November 14, said most detentions occurred in Chagai and Quetta districts of Balochistan and in Attock district of Punjab.
