Afghanistan, Sept. 24 -- An Afghan Air Forces' MD 530 helicopter has crashed in the Kaparak area of Pul-e-Khumri city in northern Badakhshan, immediately killing two pilots on board.

The Ministry of Defense confirmed the incident in a released press statement, stating the incident occurred today at around 4:30 Pm.

The statement adds, the chopper had crashed due to technical difficulties.

Asadullah Khalid the Defense Minister, also has expressed his sorrows according to the incident, he wished heaven for the Martyrs and passed his deepest condolences to their families.

Reports indicate, the Defense Ministry has launched an investigation into the matter.
