Afghanistan, Nov. 11 -- At least eight people were killed and twenty injured when a car exploded near Delhi's historic Red Fort on Monday evening, police said.

Indian media reported that police have launched an investigation into the Monday night explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi, which left at least eight people dead and 20 injured. Authorities are treating the case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, India's main anti-terrorism law.

The law allows investigators to pursue individuals and organizations suspected of engaging in terrorism or activities that threaten national sovereignty and integrity. Officials said the use of this law indicates the seriousness of the probe.
