Afghanistan, Dec. 9 -- Russian officials say seven civilians were killed and dozens injured in Ukrainian strikes across border regions during the past week, escalating tensions.

Russia's envoy for Ukraine, Rodion Miroshnik, has claimed that Ukrainian attacks on Russian-held areas over the past week have killed seven civilians and wounded 60 others.

Speaking to state media, Miroshnik said the strikes targeted several regions under Russian control, including Belgorod, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and the self-declared Donetsk People's Republic. He added that drone attacks were the primary cause of the reported casualties.
