Afghanistan, April 24 -- The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation announced on Thursday, April 24, the release of 62 Afghan prisoners from Pakistani jails.
According to the statement, these prisoners were freed on April 23 and returned to Afghanistan. The release came as part of ongoing efforts related to the repatriation of Afghan migrants.
The detainees had been held in various regions across Pakistan for periods ranging from one to four days. The statement said that these individuals were part of a group of Afghan nationals detained due to immigration violations.
Pakistan began the second phase of deporting Afghan migrants in April 2024, with over 80,000 Afghan nationals sent back to Afghanistan since the start of the month.
