Afghanistan, June 4 -- Sixty historic gold coins believed to date back to the Ghurid Empire were discovered during roadwork in Ghor, Afghanistan.
Taliban authorities in Afghanistan's Ghor province have announced the discovery of 60 ancient gold coins, reportedly dating back to the Ghurid Empire era.
According to Abdul Hai Zaeem, the Taliban-appointed head of the Department of Information and Culture in Ghor, the coins were unearthed during road construction activities in the Allahyar district.
While the historical significance of the coins is believed to be substantial, officials stated that their monetary value has yet to be determined.
