Afghanistan, March 16 -- Media outlets have reported a devastating and deadly fire in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia. At least 50 people have lost their lives due to the fire.
According to Radio Free Europe, the fire broke out around 1:30 AM local time on Sunday, March 16, in a nightclub called "Night Life." Witnesses reported that the flames quickly spread throughout the building, and thick smoke filled the air, making it difficult for many people to escape in time.
Firefighters confirmed that more than 100 people were inside the nightclub at the time of the incident. After approximately two hours of effort, rescue teams were able to bring the fire under control.
