Afghanistan, Feb. 21 -- A relatively strong earthquake struck parts of Afghanistan on Friday, shaking Kabul, Parwan and Baghlan provinces and alarming residents.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said the quake measured 5.7 in magnitude and was centered in eastern Baghlan province.
Tremors were felt across several provinces on Friday, prompting people in affected areas to leave their homes and offices as a precaution.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or major damage, according to initial assessments from local authorities.
