Afghanistan, Sept. 24 -- At least 5 members of the same family, including children, were killed in a Taliban insurgent ambush.

Sanaullah Rohani, a spokesman for the province police, told the press, that early this morning as the family was driving to drop their children to Madrassa-Religious school, their vehicle was ambushed in Patawak Village of Darayem District.

He added, 5 family members including children were killed in the insurgent's ambush, and one other was wounded.

Badakhshan police have currently launched an investigation in relation to the incident.

Taliban have not yet shared their part of description based on the attack.
