48 Taliban militants, 8 Afghan soldiers killed or wounded in latest Balkh clashes
Afghanistan, Aug. 25 -- The security forces have killed or wounded at least 48 Taliban militants including one of their commanders in northern Balkh province.
The 209th Shaheen Corps said in a statement that the security forces conducted air and artillery strikes as well as ground operations against Taliban in various districts of Balkh.
The statement further added that the security forces targeted the militants in Siya Aab of Sholgara, Alam Khel of Balkh, Asyab Khan of Chamtal and Shahrk-e Afghania of Nahr-e Shahi district.
Furthermore, the 209th Shaheen Corps said the security forces killed 30 Taliban militants and wounded 18 others during the operations.
