Afghanistan, Dec. 13 -- Thirty-three people were injured when an explosion struck a wedding in southern Syria, while separate blasts in Damascus intensified growing security concerns nationwide.

At least 33 people were injured when an explosion struck a wedding celebration in the village of Abideen, west of the southern Syrian city of Daraa, local health officials said.

The blast occurred during the wedding ceremony, injuring several guests. Authorities have not yet released details about the cause of the explosion or whether it was accidental or deliberate.
