Afghanistan, April 14 -- Afghanistan is facing an unprecedented nutrition crisis, with nearly 3.5 million children under the age of five projected to suffer from acute malnutrition in the current year.

This includes approximately 867,300 cases of severe acute malnutrition (SAM) and 2.6 million cases of moderate acute malnutrition (MAM). Additionally, around 1.2 million pregnant and breastfeeding women are expected to experience acute malnutrition during the same period.
