Afghanistan, Jan. 30 -- Three citizens of Afghanistan were killed in an armed clash with Tajikistan border guards Thursday night in Khatlon province's Shamsiddin Shohin district.

Tajikistan's National Security Committee stated five individuals from Afghanistan entered the country and refused border guards' orders to surrender, engaging in armed resistance while attempting to flee back.

Tajik authorities seized three Kalashnikov rifles, 150 bullets, 73 packages of hashish and opium, and other equipment from the clash site, according to the National Security Committee.
