Afghanistan, March 19 -- Turkish police have detained 24 Afghan refugees in two separate operations across different cities, transferring them to deportation centers for further processing and eventual return to Afghanistan.
On Tuesday, the police in Balikesir announced the detention of 14 Afghan refugees who had illegally entered Turkey. The refugees were taken to the Foreigners' Deportation Center.
In a separate operation, the police in Bitlis reported the arrest of 10 Afghan refugees in the city. These two operations resulted in a total of 24 Afghan refugees being detained and transferred to deportation centers.
