Afghanistan, July 30 -- A migrant boat capsized off Libya's coast, killing 18 people and leaving 50 missing, the International Organization for Migration confirmed, urging urgent rescue efforts.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced on Tuesday that at least 18 people died and 50 others went missing after a migrant boat sank off the coast of Tobruk in eastern Libya, near Egypt. Ten survivors were rescued from the vessel.

Reuters, citing Egyptian officials, reported that the migrants on board were all Egyptian nationals attempting the dangerous crossing.
