The World Food Programme (WFP) reports that Afghanistan remains one of the world's hunger hotspots, with over 10 million Afghans in urgent need of food assistance for survival.

According to WFP's latest update on Wednesday, June 4, an estimated 9.5 million people are experiencing severe levels of food insecurity across the country, particularly in rural and conflict-affected areas.
