The family of the 'unidentified militant' killed by security forces on Sunday in an encounter in Kulgam has alleged it to be a case of a fake encounter and maintained that the slain had nothing to do with militancy.
Abdul Qayoom Dar, father of the Imran Qayoom who was killed during the Kulgam encounter, has written to the District Magistrate in Anantnag "appealing" for a First Information Report and a probe into his killing.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police had claimed that one unidentified militant was killed in a gunfight in Sursano village of Kulgam after the police and the Army's 34 Rashtriya Rifles launched a search operation.
