Jammu, Oct. 23 -- With the reported clearance of a record number of 125 development projects by the Forest Advisory Committee (FAC) of the Union Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) between August and October, the NDA-government appears to be in a tearing hurry to take over forests areas for this purpose. Though the nature of projects cleared for this purpose have not been disclosed by the J&K government, yet it is feared that such projects will cause an irreparable loss to the fragile environment and ecology of the state.
