Srinagar, June 16 -- Vice Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganie, on Monday said that the university is committed to promote technology-driven solutions for value addition in the walnut sector and creating employment opportunities for local youth.
Speaking to reporters during his visit to Walnut research centre Kulangam Handwara, he said that there is need to reform the current marketing system for walnuts in the region. "When we go to the market to sell one crop, there are almost ten different varieties sold together. There is no proper grading system," he said.
