Jammu, Nov. 12 -- An impressive workshop on shrinking spaces and climate change with special focus on waste management was held at Govt College for Women M A Road Srinagar on Wednesday.
According to a press release issued, thespeakers stressed on inhouse composting of biodegradable waste especially kitchen waste so that pressure on landfill sites is brought down.
Noted activist and Chairman J&K Climate Action Group-JKCAG Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat while addressing the students and staff of the college said that population explosion and urbanisation is shrinking Kashmir's landmass and Govt authorities are unable to find enough land to create sanitary landfill sites.
