Caracas, Jan. 3 -- Venezuela has accused the United States of carrying out attacks on civilian and military installations across several states after a series of explosions were reported in the capital, Caracas, early Saturday.

According to Venezuelan authorities, at least seven explosions were heard around 2 a.m., accompanied by low-flying aircraft. Smoke was seen rising from a military base hangar, while another military facility in Caracas reportedly lost power following the blasts.

Residents in different parts of the city rushed into the streets after feeling strong tremors. Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic as explosions shook the ground.
