Srinagar, Nov. 23 -- Senior Vice President of the J&K People's Conference and former Cabinet Minister Abdul Gani Vakil strongly condemned the government's decision to increase electricity tariffs by 20%, instead of fulfilling its promise of 200 units of free electricity.
In a Statement issued, Vakil said it is "deeply disappointing and shocking" that, rather than providing relief, the government is placing additional financial burdens on the people.
Vakil demanded Omar Abdullah's resignation on moral grounds, asserting that the government has "completely failed on both economic and political fronts." He added that even after one full year in office, "the government's performance remains absolutely zero."
