Srinagar, Dec. 26 -- Minimum temperatures across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh remained low on Friday, with several places in the Kashmir Valley recording sub-zero night temperatures, officials said. According to data compiled by the Kashmir Weather service, Sonamarg emerged as the coldest place in the Kashmir region at minus 4.7 degrees Celsius, followed by Gulmarg at minus 4.5 degrees Celsius. Pulwama recorded a low of minus 3.4 degrees Celsius, while Shopian and Kupwara settled at minus 2.5 degrees Celsius and minus 2.4 degrees Celsius, respectively.
