Srinagar, Jan. 4 -- Large parts of Kashmir Valley experienced sub-zero minimum temperatures overnight, with Gulmarg emerging as the coldest place in the region, officials said on Sunday. According to data compiled by Kashmir Weather, the minimum temperature in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, settled at minus 3.2 degrees Celsius, while the nearby Srinagar airport recorded a lower minimum of minus 4.2 degrees Celsius. Awantipora in south Kashmir also logged a minimum of minus 4.2 degrees Celsius. Gulmarg, the famous ski resort in north Kashmir, recorded a low of minus 6.5 degrees Celsius, making it the coldest reported location in the Valley.
