Srinagar, July 5 -- The Kashmir Valley experienced unusually high temperatures on Saturday, with Srinagar recording its third-highest maximum temperature ever at 37.4degC, according to the Meteorological Centre, Srinagar.
This intense heatwave marks one of the hottest July days on record for the city. The current temperature falls just short of the previous highs: 37.7degC recorded on July 5, 1953, and the all-time highest of 38.3degC on July 10, 1946.
