Srinagar, Nov. 20 -- Union Minister for Railways, Information and Broadcasting, electronics and information technology Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Thursday that social media is playing a major role in breaking public trust through deepfakes, synthetic content and fast-spreading rumours.
He said the growing volume of manipulated material circulating online is creating serious concern and is affecting the relationship between citizens and institutions. According to him, this disruption has become a common worry across sectors.
