Srinagar, Feb. 3 -- The Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid reported that today, shortly after Asr prayers, police directed Auqaf authorities to close the gates of the historic Jama Masjid Srinagar, denying permission for Shab-e-Barat observances. The Auqaf was instructed to ensure the premises remained closed throughout the night, despite prior preparations for the sacred occasion.
