Srinagar, Aug. 9 -- The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has informed the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court that a decision regarding the prosecution of several IAS officers allegedly involved in the arms license scam will likely be taken within the next six weeks.
The submission was made during the hearing of a case concerning the scam, in which the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has alleged that thousands of gun licences were illegally issued to ineligible individuals between 2012 and 2016, when Jammu and Kashmir was still a state.
The alleged irregularities occurred during the tenure of several district magistrates, 13 of whom were IAS officers, and three from the Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS).
