Karnah MLA Javid Ahmed Marchal on Tuesday described the approval of the Sadhna Tunnel as a "landmark decision" that will ensure all-weather connectivity for the remote border region and accelerate its socio-economic development. Marchal thanked the Omar Abdullah government and central leadership, including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for approving the long-awaited project. He said recurring heavy snowfall and prolonged closure of the Sadhna Pass have disrupted transportation, healthcare, education, and essential supplies, which the tunnel will permanently address.
