Jammu, Aug. 26 -- Several rivers and streams across Jammu region have crossed danger and evacuation levels by noon on Tuesday, raising fresh flood concerns amid continuous rainfall.

In Samba district, Basenter River surged to a record 9.0 ft, well above the evacuation level, while Devak River also crossed its danger mark of 4.3 ft, just six inches short of evacuation level. Bein Nallah is flowing close to the alert level of 3.3 ft.

In Udhampur, River Tawi is flowing 7 feet above the evacuation mark, its highest alarm level.
