Jammu, May 23 -- Srinagar, May 23 (KNS)Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is set to visit Poonch in the Jammu region on Saturday, May 24, to meet families affected by the recent Pakistani shelling.

Kashmir News Service (KNS) has confirmed about the visit through senior Congress leaders in Jammu and Kashmir.

A senior Congress leader in J&K told KNS that Gandhi's visit aims to stand in solidarity with the bereaved families and review the situation in the region that has witnessed recent hostilities.

This marks Gandhi's second visit to Jammu and Kashmir following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the deaths of 25 tourists and one local.
