Jammu, Nov. 26 -- New Delhi, Nov 26 (KNS) On the 16th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday remembered the security personnel who lost their lives while safeguarding civilians and said the country remains indebted to their sacrifice.

The coordinated attacks carried out in Mumbai from November 26 to 29, 2008, by 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives resulted in the deaths of 175 people, including 26 foreign nationals and 20 security force personnel.

Nine of the attackers were killed during the operations, while Ajmal Kasab - captured alive - was later executed after trial.
