Police in North Kashmir have intensified their crackdown on narcotics trafficking, terrorism and rising social crimes, with a renewed focus on dismantling the financial networks that sustain the drug trade, Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir Range, Maqsood-ul-Zaman said on Wednesday.

Addressing the media after a public outreach programme in the Hajin area of Bandipora district, the DIG said the police have adopted a zero-tolerance approach towards narcotics and are now targeting the economic backbone of drug syndicates rather than limiting action to arrests alone.
