Srinagar, June 9 -- Contractors working under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Kashmir met today with House Committee Chairman and MLA Pampore Hasnain Masoodi to highlight key concerns affecting the implementation of water supply projects in the region.
The PHE JJM Contractors Coordination Committee, Kashmir, submitted a memorandum detailing challenges faced by contractors, especially the delay in release and utilisation of project funds. The committee said these delays are severely impacting the pace and efficiency of work under the Public Health Engineering (PHE) sector.
Contractors urged the Chairman to help streamline fund disbursement, ensure timely payments, and establish a transparent accountability system to avoid project delays....
