Srinagar, Dec. 29 -- National Conference chief spokesperson and MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq, on Monday said that protesters who were stopped were holding a peaceful protest and should not have been stopped.

Speaking to reporters, Tanvir said that the government had allowed them earlier, so there was no reason to stop them this time.

"A peaceful protest in a democracy is a democratic right of ours and every person should be given that right. What happened yesterday was not right," he said.
