The Power Development Department (PDD) on Wednesday disconnected electricity supply to several households in the Tarzoo area of Sopore as part of its ongoing drive against consumers with long-pending electricity dues.
Local residents, while speaking to KNS, said they are not opposing the payment but are currently under financial stress and need some time.
"We are also human beings. Our children are preparing for exams, and this is the time of heatwaves. We can't survive without electricity. At least give us one month to clear the bills," a resident said.
