Jammu, July 13 -- Core Group of the Nageen Lake Conservation Organisation (NLCO) held a crucial meeting today to review and deliberate on the ongoing restoration of the twin urban lakes of Gilsar and Khushalsar, which were recently handed over to the J&K Lakes And Waterways Development Authority (LCMA) by the J&K Government.
The members unanimously appreciated the landmark decision of the administration in transferring the responsibility of these orphaned lakes to a competent authority - a long-standing demand by environmental stakeholders. This move is seen as a major turning point in the revival of these critical water bodies.
