Srinagar, Dec. 11 -- J&K Legislative Assembly member Tanvir Sadiq on Thursday expressed deep concern over reports of nitrofuran and nitroimidazole residues being detected in eggs, calling the presence of these banned drugs in food-producing animals a serious public health risk.
Nitrofuran and nitroimidazole are strictly prohibited in food-producing animals due to their carcinogenic and toxic effects.
