Srinagar, Dec. 18 -- Several parts of Kashmir recorded sub-zero minimum temperatures on Tuesday, while the Jammu region witnessed relatively milder night temperatures as 'Chillai Kalan', the Valley's harshest winter period, is set to begin on December 21. In the Kashmir region, Srinagar recorded a low of 0.2 degrees Celsius, while the temperature at Srinagar Airport settled at 0.0 degrees Celsius. Qazigund recorded 0.8 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam 0.4 degrees Celsius and Kupwara minus 1.0 degrees Celsius. Pampore and Baramulla recorded lows of minus 1.8 degrees Celsius each, while Awantipora registered the lowest temperature in the Valley at minus 3.8 degrees Celsius.
