Senior PDP leader and former Education Minister Naeem Akhtar on Thursday said that the National Conference (NC) has failed to fulfil its promises to the people of Kashmir since 1947, alleging that the masses were repeatedly misled in the name of rights, struggle, and autonomy.

Addressing a workers' convention in Bandipora, Akhtar said that despite decades of tall claims, the ground situation for the people of Kashmir remains unchanged. "The people were time and again deceived with hollow slogans, but their genuine aspirations were never addressed," he asserted.
