Srinagar, Nov. 18 -- Srinagar-Jammu national highway remained open for one-way traffic from Jammu to Srinagar on Monday with hundreds of stranded trucks also moving towards their respective destinations.

A traffic official told KNS that light motor vehicles (LMVs) from Jammu were allowed to move towards Srinagar on Monday while stranded trucks on the 264-km highway were also allowed to move. He said subject to weather conditions on Tuesday light motor vehicles from Srinagar to Jammu will be allowed to ply on the highway.

Since the heavy snowfall on November 7, the strategic highway remained closed for several days due to accumulation of snow and landslides. (KNS)
