Jammu, Dec. 4 -- Faced with financial distress, 32-year-old Jyoti Singh of Satwari in Jammu has taken up driving an e-rickshaw to support her family, becoming one of the few women in her locality to do so.

Singh, mother of two daughters, is the sole earning member of the family as her husband, Dheeraj Singh, is undergoing treatment for a liver ailment. The household survives on her daily income.

She told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that she started driving an e-rickshaw around three months ago after mounting medical expenses and school fees made it difficult to manage the household budget.
