Srinagar, Oct. 29 -- MLA Gulmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah on Wednesday expressed serious concern over the growing problem of food adulteration in Jammu and Kashmir, saying it directly affects the health and lives of people.

Speaking during the Question Hour in the Assembly as per KNS correspondent, Shah said many people are suffering from diseases like cancer, ulcers, and gastric problems due to unsafe and adulterated food.

He said the Food Safety Department has become "toothless" as nearly 50 percent of its posts are vacant, making it difficult to control food adulteration effectively. "The government must take this issue seriously and strengthen the department by filling vacant posts," Shah said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
