Srinagar, Aug. 13 -- Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Tuesday voiced deep concern over the rising drug addiction and suicide rates in Kashmir, attributing these issues to various social, economic, and political factors.

He emphasized the need for a collective response involving the community, religious leaders, and the government to address these challenges effectively.

"Drug addiction and suicide rates are rising in our society. We must address the stigma around addiction, treat those who are suffering, and take strict action against those involved in the drug trade," Mirwaiz Umar told reporters here at Srinagar.
