Srinagar, July 21 -- Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of Masjid Bilal in Chanpora Srinagar. On the occasion, he highlighted the central role of mosques in uniting Muslims, spreading Islamic values, and serving as vibrant centres for spiritual and social development.

He said the mosque is the centre of Islamic unity, where the call to prayer gathers all believers regardless of background or school of thought. "Masjids should not be divided along sectarian lines. They belong to Allah and must remain open to all," he stated.
