New Delhi, Oct. 17 -- The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has directed a judicial inquiry into the police action in Leh town on September 24, which led to the deaths of four people.

According to the notification issued on Friday, an FIR (No. 144/2025) has been registered at Police Station Leh under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, covering offences such as abetment, attempted offences, causing injury, and obstruction of public servants.

The inquiry will be headed by former Supreme Court Judge Dr. B. S. Chauhan, who will be supported by retired District and Sessions Judge Mohan Singh Parihar as Judicial Secretary and IAS officer Tushar Anand as Administrative Secretary.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
