Srinagar, Aug. 9 -- Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Karra, along with senior party leaders, district coordinators, and district presidents, launched a chain hunger strike in Srinagar on Saturday, demanding the restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to the media during the protest, Karra said that over the past six months, the Congress party has conducted outreach across all 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir to build momentum around the demand for the restoration of statehood.
He said the party had organized protest programs in Srinagar, Jammu, and Delhi, and in some areas, workers were stopped, detained, or faced police action.
