Srinagar, Aug. 9 -- Jammu & Kashmir has emerged as one of the leading Union Territories in the rollout of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs), with 3,142 centres now functional across rural, urban, and tribal belts, according to fresh government data presented in the Lok Sabha.

The figures, current as of July 15, 2025, underline the UT's rapid expansion of primary healthcare infrastructure under the Ayushman Bharat initiative. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported that J&K's AAM network has contributed to a nationwide jump in footfall from 13.49 crore visits in 2019-20 to over 128 crore in 2024-25 alongside a sharp increase in screenings for non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
